Earls Court, London. August 1st-5th 2006. First time we've made it to the big beer festival. I got there on the Friday and went back for a few hours on the Saturday. I'm glad I arrived early on Friday because it got really busy in the evening and by closing time most of the barrels were empty. On the Saturday there was so little available we had to wait for some cider to be delivered from Kent before we could drink anything but bottles from the International stand.
There was a massive amount of beer in Earls Court, getting there on the Friday I really didn't know where to begin. As always we tried to start with stouts and porters but there was never any hope of trying them all; the bars were set out regionally so James and I started in the North East and moved around but by the time we'd got to the South East it was so busy we went to any bar where the queue didn't look ridiculous. We we're joined later in the day by Sweep and a couple of other Rugby club people like Blair, Harrison, Garth, Alex, and Sophie. It was a really good day.
A lot of the drinks we had weren't in the programme and by the evening I was pissed and the lack of space made it so awkard that I didn't write down half of the stuff that I was drinking.
