Jay's Toilet Reviews

Lincolnshire-Spalding The Hole In The Wall

I should have walked out as soon as I saw the odd blue decor through the entrance and should have turned around when I noticed the absence of any decent beers on tap but for some reason I decided to stay. the were showing super 12s Rugby on the Tvs, maybe thats what convinced me.
I looked into the fridges further down the bar and saw what looked to be Bitburger I asked the bar man if it was and he sad yes, so I asked for a bottle and ordered my girlfriend a vodka lime and lemonade. The bar man came back with my bottle and a pint of lemonade (I had to order a double vodka seperatly). Fair enough he made a mistake - must have misheard me. I sat down and mas about to have a drink when I noticed that it wasn't Bitburger at all but 'Bitburger drive - alcoholfrei'. I went back to the bar: -

"Excuse me, you've given me alcohol-free beer"
"that's Bitburger; you asked for it." He said as though he'd never head of the stuff before.
"I asked for Bitburger. Bitburger's a proper beer, it's not alcohol-free."
"You got what you asked for" the barman said with a smug grin on his face.
At this point what I should have done was grab him by the collar drag him over the bar and smash his teeth out with the bottle before leaving the pub. What I did do was look over at my girlfriend with her pint of lemonade and a double vodka to finish and order a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale.

Apart from that, the pub was generally a bit tacky. and the absence of good beer makes it a place that's really not worth visiting.
